I'm Sam, a design leader based in Essex with an agency and consultancy background.
Most recently I was Director of User Experience at Indeed, leading design for Indeed Flex, a staffing marketplace used by 240,000+ workers across the UK and US. I grew the team to 17 designers and 4 researchers, built our design system from scratch, cut worker onboarding from 27 steps to 7, and designed Felix, an agentic AI platform for operations teams.
Before that I led product design at Cannes Lions, taking the festival online in under two months during COVID, and built a design consultancy from scratch at Squiz, owning the P&L and winning work through pitches and tenders.
Leading teams hasn't taken me away from the work. I still design and build myself, combining Figma with AI tools like Cursor and Claude to test ideas quickly and get to great work faster.
