A highly executed and quality driven professional portfolio for dancers is essential. As more and more directors, select dancers from a bundle of showreels (these are usually a selection of photos and short video pieces of their work) a highly polished showreell is an undervalued and important tool in the dancer´s portfolio today. Many dancers send in low quality resolution shots of themselves or poor quality videos which don´t show them off to their best potential.
Our job as a team, Kit Jennings, Gonçalo Barriga and myself had the brief to direct and create a highly polished showreel for classical dancer Chang Chung Hung a Taiwanese Grand Prix Gold medallist winner. As well as the showreel which included professional photographs, we went one step further and created a micro documentary Working Dreams which included stills, video and time lapse.
