Working for a third-party publisher, I contribute literary criticism essays for the Literature Criticism Series by academic publishers Gale/Cengage.

The primary purpose of the Literary Criticism Series is to provide published criticism of works by world authors from all time periods; our goal is to provide users with comprehensive, well-organized, high-quality, and up-to-date secondary source research material on featured authors and their works.

Each two-thousand-word essay introduces an author or single work of literature and explains the trends in criticism surrounding the subject. To begin a project, I perform hours of research to familiarize myself with the subject: an author’s biography and career, their place within stylistic movements or ideologies, and the contents and themes of specific works. Next, I read 10+ critical essays on the given topic, synthesize the information and present it in a well-organized, linear format that will be accessible to students at the undergraduate level or above. I closely follow my client’s guidelines to ensure that entries are uniform in tone, organization and depth of research.
