About me

My name is Samantha Broadley, I have recently graduated from The University of Salford, where I was awarded a degree of Bachelor of Arts with Second Class Honours Division One in Interior Design and I am currently seeking work in Manchester and the surrounding areas. During my three year course I have gained the skills to help me develop and succeed in the design industry, I enjoy all stages of the design process. I have also gained a good working knowledge in a number of computer programmes such as, AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

As a self-motivated, enthusiastic person with excellent communication skills, I enjoy working as part of a team where ideas can be shared and creativity enhanced or I can work on my own initiative to achieve my goals.

A goal I have recently achieved is a Fellowship with the Royal Society of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce and The Helen Hamlyn Award of £1000. As part of my University course we solved a brief for the RSA which then was entered into the annual competition, my idea was titled 'Independence, a new shopping experience' I designed a supermarket navigation system and changed the store layouts, I did this with visually impaired people in mind. My work was shortlised down to eleven other ideas from 151 entries, after an interview in London at the RSA I was chosen as one of the four winners. This work was then exhibited in The Royal Hockney Art Gallery with the 'best of the best', where it then went on to be exhibited in Finland and Brussels and the University Degree show, It is also currently on the RSA Design Directions online exhibition.

As I have solved a number of different briefs through my course I have had an insight into many different areas of interior design from retail to leisure to component design all of which I have enjoyed creating and producing a full set of detailed drawings for.

My work has developed massively over the past few years and I look forward to it developing more throughout my future career. I believe that my attitude, creativity and work ethos are suitable for a position in a design team and so I hope you will consider me for any positions you may have available, I have included a copy of my CV.

On a final note may I take this opportunity to thank you for your time and I will look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Yours Sincerely

Miss Samantha Broadley FRSA
