ABOUT
Snide is a new Liverpool based record label that is already giving a platform to some great artists.
Being a genreless label meant that the designs shouldn't be exclusive to any one style or aesthetic! Other than though. I had total free reign to put my mark onto the label, I developed 3 entirely different looks and directions the label could take.
This first one is the most traditional. The record icon I imagine if chosen will create loads of opportunities moving forward for exciting and interesting marketing material, having the shape appear throughout, whether that be in animated videos or on posters, flyers small publications.
This is where I started to be a bit more modern and experimental. I love the idea of the icon and text subtly adapting to the release the logo is placed on. I did one example of a more grungy icon to showcase how this might work. However you can imagine a more glitchy one for electronic releases, and perhaps more bubble writing and a smoother icon for Rap releases.
This concept has the most attitude, by far. They were created from some type of experiments that I developed on photoshop! I think they still would fit a genreless label quite effectively as the text partner and the crop around the text contrast nicely with the more freeform grungey '
We're still looking at the three concepts to work out which one we should move forward with and start to develop one of these logos into a full brand. One to grace potential eps, lps, posters, flyers, videos, and more.
