About me

I have recently graduated from the University of Leeds with a 2.1 in Textile Design, where I have gained first hand experience of designing and making woven and printed fabrics. I am approaching you in particular because your company is held in high regard by the design department at the University.

To ensure I was developing my knowledge of the textile industry whilst studying, I recently completed a 3-month internship with an independent school uniform manufacturer in Leeds, *, website design, development of marketing materials and also constant communication with local fabric suppliers. As well as picking up various design skills, I found my interest in the textile industry developed as a result of this hands-on experience. What I found very inspiring about this particular company was their ability to design and manufacture garments in-house, and also to source fabrics locally. An added benefit of designing their woven fabrics was the opportunity to visit a textile mill in Bradford, where I learnt how colour specifications are communicated within the industry.
