3D and 4D are similar dimensions, the fourth expands into space where duration and movement interact. These elements can be complicated, especially when together. The challenge in ideas is 4D on its own does include 3D. To think about these symotanious elements as two seperate spaces for invention is challenging. In essence it’s stifling because those dimensions can work together. To compose these four dimensions together is easier to do. I’m trying to push beyond the 3D aspect of oil paint into an honest 3D environment. This for example I have to think 4D while approaching the camera, because it’s not a separate, just more dimensions in the same presentation.
