ABOUT
We were briefed by Deliveroo’s UK operations team who keep deliveries running smoothly and deal with the logistics to ensure everything works well for their riders. Many of their riders do not speak English as a first language and a lot of their communication is text based which posed a problem… a problem which animation can solve! We were therefore asked to create an engaging training animation which explains their ‘zone clusters’ in an easy to digest fashion… pun intended! The zone clusters give the rider the opportunity to earn more moolah by expanding the area they cover to include other zones.
We created a spicy 60 second animation to explain zone clustering using a technique which creates a 3D illusion in 2D using a 360 rig. In our animation, our seemingly 3D rider cycles through a map, showing how to use the app for zone clusters while the voiceover explains what they are doing. Throughout, we created a turning camera effect which allowed us to deliver smooth transitions in a creative yet subtle manner whilst not being distracting to the message of the animation.
We absolutely loved working with a globally recognised brand, especially one with such a distinct and vibrant style. It was also extremely fun to pop our thinking caps on and come up with the 3D illusion which we are super proud of!
