Dear Sir or Madam,

As a digital illustrator and journalist with over five years of experience at national newspapers and B2B publications, I would be interested in the copywriter role as an opportunity to use and grow my writing and conceptual design skills in a dynamic, creative and team-oriented environment. Given my MA in international relations, I am also excited by the possibility of engaging with clients who have an equally strong domestic and global presence.

I think I would be able to handle the responsibilities of the role, as during both journalism school and my national newspaper training at Bucharest-based Adevarul, I learned how to reliably produce, edit and tailor copy that stands out under very tight deadline conditions, as well as how to expand my industry contact network and gain a clear perspective of what readers genuinely want to see.

I feel my illustration background and personal interest in conceptual art would help me to truly respond to and engage with your client's team of art directors, and that I would be uniquely suited to building copy that accompanies or inspires their artistic vision.

Moreover, as editor of The Lex 100 and of a European Union-funded project, I have had to generate story ideas, briefs and headlines, as well as manage the editing and online upload of daily copy. I have also participated in editorial-led projects and campaigns that were intended to further supply and tailor content to our readers, to increase our audience and to grow our ad-based revenue (which, in the case of the Lex 100, led to a 98% readership increase, as compared to the previous year).

With respect to other role-related technical abilities, I would like to mention that I have an average typing speed of wpm, along with experience with web CMS (Joomla and icms), graphics, design and Adobe Photoshop. I also have native language skills in Romanian, advanced ones in French and a beginner grasp of Spanish and Japanese.
