ABOUT
Poster for ‘The Barber of Seville’
opera by Gioachino Antonio Rossini
A story of a love triangle which is directed by the local barber. Count Almavira serenades his love Rosina under her window every night. Rosina’s guardian has designs on the wealthy orphan and so keeps her under strict lock and key. The Count engages the local barber and town fixer Figaro to think up ruses to get into her home. Cue much comic high (and low) jinx involving dropped letters, quick-thinking bribery and pretending to be a drunk soldier.
