ABOUT

The Bank of Scotland proudly serves the people of Scotland. Families. Communities. Local business. It has a rich heritage dating back to 1695, but over the years its distinctive Scottish identity had become less prominent. Suffering from lowered brand consideration and facing renewed competition from rivals, it needed to show its connection to the very fabric of Scotland. It needed to herald its ability to see life through the eyes of its customers and celebrate this fact.

We developed a palette of vibrant colours, an empathetic tone of voice and a set of strong, memorable brand assets. Fresh. Bold. Unmistakably Scottish. From brochures to social media, every time a customer encountered the brand, they saw that the Scottish bank for the Scottish people was proudly back.

A distinctly Scottish bank needed equally distinctive imagery. But how do you truly capture the richness, wit and diversity of Scottish life? We listened to how customers expressed themselves and developed a tone of voice that felt like part of their world. Then we travelled far and wide across Scotland to capture true-to-life customer moments that would reflect the scale, diversity and down-to-earth reality of modern Scotland and its people.
