ABOUT
“Quartic Flow VR - Zeelandia 1634” attempts to integrate the cultural and artistic elements with the VR technology to create a transnational multi-person real-time VR experience. With the state-of-the-art VR technologies, this interactive work generates a sense of immersion for the audience in two different places to arrive together at the Zeelandia Fort built by Dutch in 1634, and listen to the familiar song of “Anping Reminiscence” expressed by a number of well-known singers, describing an enchanting historical love story. “Quartic Flow VR - Zeelandia 1634” will connect the Nuit Blanche in Taipei and in Paris with a multi-person “co-existing/co-creating” VR artwork.
The audience in Taipei will experience the pleasure of co-existing and co-creating, in the music carried by the wind, with the audience at the Khiasma Art Center in Paris, together surrounded by the charming melody of “Anping Reminiscence”. In addition to using immersive VR head-mounted displays, this VR work also integrates a number of the latest technologies and devices, including: depth camera, drone, network connection, VR sound, and dynamic fan devices. The dynamic fan devices realize the artistic concept of “sound carried by wind”, and allow the participants to feel the compelling wind-blowing effect with the visual, auditory, and tactile feedback.
