About me
I'm a dedicated journalist with over four years of experience in fashion, art direction and print and digital journalism.
A graduate from Central Saint Martins' Fashion Journalism course, my editorial work has covered the luxury fashion industry, stock market, ESG investing and the impact of government sanctions on local businesses. A recent investigative piece on cotton laundering included interviews with MP Bob Seely, investment analyst Adrian Lowcock and the . Director of World Uyghur Congress Rahima Mahmut. This is one example of my investigative prowess and I can see myself applying my analytical skills and creative strategizing ability to your company.
Obsessed with art and culture, I regularly write articles on upcoming art exhibitions and festivals and am skilled at managing multiple projects at once. While completing my final year exams at university, I wrote two cover articles on up-and-coming actors for Schön! Magazine (where I was a former intern and am now a regular contributor) and an article on sex work and fashion for 1Granary Magazine.
My ability to hone in on the issues and ideas concerning Gen Z and Millennials (alongside my love for researching subcultures and social justice) led me to direct and produce a documentary on London's predominantly LGBTQI+ Fetish community. Named Saturnalia: Unbinding Fetish Fashion, it included animation, CGI and illustration and was broadcast on Girls in Film's website. The platform will also be hosting a viewing and Q&A of my film at the Shoreditch Arts Club next month). The film is enriched with more than a dozen interviewees, contributing artists and leading fashion creatives including the legendary Nick Knight, Fetish artist Parma Ham, subculture photographer Derek Ridgers, former i-D editor Caryn Franklin and Skin Two editor Tim Woodward among many others. From filming sex workers and trans latex models to Queer art raves and Fetish events, the project demanded a huge amount of editing, networking, administration and composure under pressure- all of which I excel in.
Proficient at using TikTok, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, my passion for digital and print media blossomed when I attended short courses at Manchester's School Of Journalism, Condé Nast and Polimoda International Institute of Fashion Design and Marketing in Florence. The latter saw me regularly flex my creative direction skills, design campaigns, style photoshoots, edit podcast episodes, spearhead editorial projects and manage creative teams. My organisation and time management skills also made me an asset when overseeing company and client relations at an internship with Claire Adler's Luxury PR Agency.
I'm extremely proficient at work with multiple news platforms and genres of journalism like copywriting, social media managing and video storytelling. From previously managing Keisei Magazine's social media page to proofreading and uploading As If Magazine articles on WordPress, I've successfully cultivated SEO on-brand content designed to engage readers online. I also have an impressive history of sub-editing which began when I was sixteen and founded my school magazine. I've since interned with distinguished publications like PETRIe Inventory (co-founded by celebrity stylist Zadrian Smith) and Apollo - The International Art Magazine. Each experience has been incredibly valuable, and installed a reporting diligence which helps me to meet the needs of a fast-paced newsroom. As well as being a self-starter, I consistently work hard to support my team and will bring the same camaraderie and high production values to the position.
