About me

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am a hard-working and confident creative individual with over two years experience in art gallery assistance, supporting professional designers and working in a busy digital agency.

I graduated with a 2.1 BA (Hons) Fine Art: Print and Time Based Media in 2011. Studying at University of The Arts has given me confidence to express my creative views and ideas, supported with the technical knowledge to make them happen.

Since leaving university I have taken on a number of roles including social media assistant for an independent jewellery designer in Hatton Garden. My responsibilities included website re-design, content management, sourcing PR opportunities as well as creative tasks such as filming and editing videos to promote the brand and coming up with event ideas. This work was also underpinned with strong organisation support to the designer. I was the first point of contact, answering all calls and emails and producing written documents and presentations for the designer and his team.

In my current employment I have had to be proficient in time management and I work closely with the account managers assisting with client meetings and providing graphics and images at short notice for presentations. I am therefore used to working closely with clients, answering ad-hoc queries and providing them with content for marketing blogs.

In one of my roles I was a supervisor for the Breakfast Club in Hoxton, where I line managed up to four staff at a time. This required high-level organisation, interpersonal skills and responsibility. I also had regular input into how the Breakfast Club brand was promoted via point of sale, promotions and social media.

After over five years of creative and artistic development, I want to be an asset to an agency that requires a hardworking and talented person. I can bring fresh ideas to existing concepts as well as organise my own creative thought and put it into action.

I am an enthusiastic, independent person with an exceptional knowledge of contemporary art. I am involved in the east London art scene, having worked with a number of galleries such as SPACE and Squid & Tabernacles, which are both associated with Time Out First Thursdays. I also regularly visit exhibitions in the area. My sources of information come from a wide circle of contacts in the creative industries, and online sources such as The What Where When, New Exhibitions and more niche design blogs such as The Ministry Of Type, where I draw inspiration for my own work. From this I understand the importance of contemporary art and its effect on offline and online communities and popular culture. I believe trends in this area are directly linked to wider popular culture and eventually influence the collective public consciousness.

I am keen to further my knowledge on the day-to-day running of a well-respected agency, and look forward to developing a strong career in this area.
