About me
I am a creative and innovative designer, a lateral thinker with excellent problem solving skills. Design is very individual and personal. I believe to be a successful designer one needs intellect, mental/physical strength and determination, which I have.
The course has required us to be computer literate, using programmes such as Photoshop and Auto CAD. I also have a basic knowledge of 3D Studio Max and Sketch-up through self-teaching and plan to progress this further. Although the course is computer based I enjoy freehand drawing and sketching, as I believe these skills are just as valuable, particularly when describing interiors and visualising spaces.
Since working at Alan Shaw Architects I have taught myself to use Vectorworks and feel that I am up to a good standard.
Apart from the computer work and drawing I enjoy model making and photography as I feel this is my forte. I believe models are an essential part in promoting ideas to potential clients, and photography is an aspect of design that captures a view the human eye cannot always see or recognise.
I have a passion for design and architecture, and am interested in how styles and methods are changing with the evolving knowledge of technology.
