Barcelona-based brand Octaevo creates Mediterranean-inspired homeware, stationery and gifts that celebrate design, craftsmanship and storytelling. Working closely with designer Marcel Baer, Superrb was tasked with bringing the brand’s poetic sensibility and premium aesthetic to life online through a new Shopify ecommerce site.
The goal was to design an experience that felt as refined and characterful as Octaevo’s products, a digital home that could balance editorial storytelling with effortless shopping. From the outset, the team focused on mobile-first design, knowing that most visitors would discover the brand through their phones. Every detail was considered for ease and delight: responsive banners and calls to action, “quick buy” interactions, smooth AJAX cart transitions and a smart shipping calculator that clarified delivery costs early in the journey.
Visually, the site extends Octaevo’s Mediterranean colour palette of soft pastels paired with off-black accents to create a sense of warmth and light. Editorial typography, generous white space and subtle motion design help to frame lifestyle imagery and product stories, evoking the feeling of a printed design magazine. Product detail pages were reimagined to showcase craftsmanship and context through extended layouts, embedded video and sticky “add to cart” features that kept commerce close without interrupting the narrative.
Behind the scenes, the site integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Dynamics ERP, ensuring inventory, fulfilment and customer data stay in sync. Newsletter sign-ups were woven naturally into the experience through a Mailchimp integration, while social media touchpoints encouraged further discovery.
The result is a modern, sun-drenched ecommerce experience that captures Octaevo’s Mediterranean spirit. Elegant, tactile and full of storytelling charm, the project went on to be recognised by Awwwards and Typewolf for both its design and user experience.
