About me

I am currently a master's student studying Big Data Analytics. I previously Studied Business Information Technology. My passion for Data science had grown when I completed my final-year dissertation on Predicting Car Park Occupancy (PCPO) in Birmingham and Bath. PCPO was my first ever Machine Learning model and the experience I gathered from it and the possibilities that could be gained from using data has driven to pursue my master's degree.

My Master's Dissertation Is in researching new methods to detect fraud. One emerging method identified is social media analytics. I will be developing a supervised learning approach and an unsupervised learning approach for fraud detection. I will then use social media to obtain more features that can be used to gather characteristics of fraudulent behaviour.

Upon researching there are a few difficulties network analysis has in fraud detection. Lack of Automation, Retro-active nature of social network analysis, computationally intractable, novel data storage and warehouse methods. These problems I will attempt to address them within my research.

In future work, I would attempt to research using AI in the Dark Web. The research would look at creating a network of potential criminals who post on the various dark web marketplace forums. This can help in identifying users who operate on multiple dark web marketplaces.

Whenever I'm not at university, I use learning platforms such as DataCamp, CodeAcademy and Coursera to further develop my skills. The Technology industry is always developing, so to keep up we always need to carry on learning. I'm currently in the process of obtaining a SAS Software Certified Young Professionals Certificate. I'm also taking the IBM Data Science Professional Certificate.

I've worked on personal projects which I have briefly explained on my Resume. I wouldn't have a problem with displaying the work I've done in-depth.
