ABOUT

This project was inspired by the computer generated, opening sequence of the movie Narnia which is set in the blitz during WW2. In which we see the city of London at night from the point of view of the crew, of a Dornier bomber.

Instead I have used the interior and point of view of a bomb aimer in a Lancaster bomber somewhere over Germany being attacked by a Messerschmitt 110 night fighter and flying into a hail of flak.

I worked from a number of references of the interior of Lancaster bombers, the detail of which changed many times during the air war. So this is a kind of combination interior.

This illustration harks back to a time when aircraft where piloted by men, as opposed to the present where aircraft fly the men.
