Work in Progress – Inside OSESP takes viewers on a journey into the universe of one of the world’s most renowned symphony orchestras. Each episode presents a creative process and all the production required to bring to life the grand concerts of the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (OSESP), set against the magnificent backdrop of Sala São Paulo.

The cameras capture movements and details never before seen, as well as the musicians’ rehearsals and the behind-the-scenes work of building a concert, including the performance of A Hero’s Life by German composer Richard Strauss.

The series features testimonials from OSESP’s musical director and principal conductor Marin Alsop; artistic director Arthur Nestrovski and executive director Marcelo Lopes; former president Fernando Henrique Cardoso, honorary president of the Orchestra since 2013; Marcos Mendonça, former secretary of culture of the state of São Paulo; and conductor John Neschling, who served as the Orchestra’s artistic director and principal conductor for twelve years.
