Take a Seat to take a stand.
2018 has been the year of women.
In 2018, Women's march became the largest protest in U.S. history. Yet, women are still sidelined in sports. This is shown on the empty seats and low tv rates of the WNBA games.
The Women's National Basketball Association wanted to launch the 2018 games with an activation that connected the league to the women's movement. Our idea came from the insight that people are more likely to participate when they get to have a say.
The WNBA called all voices supporting women into the arena. By showing up to the game, people did more than supporting women in sports. They stood up for women everywhere. The WNBA arenas were divided into sections, each assigned to a partner organization. When people took a seat, they stood for a cause of their choice and the WNBA donated a big portion of their ticket towards it.
