An Ode

to the year 2020
You memorizers
just cause you rolled up to my own front door
while I was living
doesn’t mean you had a whim
clearly you wanna win at something
come on in
why not just take it easy
I don’t know you
you want my opinion
why are you stuck on something then
can I get a hard copy
cause your survey ain’t original
Before I can ask
can I take it on my own time
you give me your opinion
before you asked me for mine
but you made up the questions right
oh I didn’t answer one right
you’re here to tell me what’s up
stop it you ain’t down but you‘re in my home
being not sly
to tell me what’s up on my own property
before I say what I think
you start with telling me about your morning
asking about mine
but you never considered if I got the time
oh the morning
how yours went
It’s a guise you’ll tell my neighbor
you use it as an offering
don’t mix that up with peace
you came in to tell me what you believe
is right
that’s messed up yo
you coulda taught me something if your word had a meaning
you ain’t got a poll yo
you ain’t got opinions
you took fun facts that literally
you’re here to tell me what’s wrong with my beliefs
but you don’t know me
it bothers me
that you keep trying
down the line you ride
on a bike to conquer
that ain’t kind
bikes were meant for the journey
holla
