This project explores the current capabilities of AI image generation in the context of automotive imagery, compared to a traditional hybrid workflow combining photography, CGI, and compositing.

The study is based on a previous automotive project I developed using a 3D and compositing workflow, which was used here as a controlled visual reference.

The goal was not to replace the traditional process, but to evaluate how closely AI-generated results can approach the level of control, consistency, and realism required in professional image production.

Using the same visual direction, I generated a series of AI images and compared them directly with the crafted hybrid results from the original project.

While AI proves effective for rapid concept generation and visual exploration, the comparison highlights the limitations in precision, material accuracy, and controllability when measured against a fully directed workflow.

This study reflects an ongoing interest in integrating new tools while maintaining a strong focus on quality and creative control.
