As the cruise market expands and ships grow ever larger, IDEA identified a series of ports that could benefit from a new approach to development - country led rather than the traditional cruise line led development. My role initially was as part of the creative team that created the concept package for presentation to the Government, and then to respond to the resulting RFP following buy-in from the Prime Minister and Cabinet. I was then responsible for design management of the concept into full architectural package using local resources, coordination with the Port Authority, Environmental Agencies, Cruise Lines and Governmental Departments, before handover to the Clients onsite Construction Manager.
