Site Scope: 86 acres, 1,000 units.

One of the first Club Med developments, the site outside Kusadasi on the Aegean coast covers three headlands and two sandy bays. First developed in the 1960s, the site was mothballed in 2001.

The outdated and derelict buildings sat in lush landscaping had matured to create an environment unique to the heavily developed coast to either side of the site. Emerald Point was conceived to embrace both the unique environment and the local Aegean style embellished with the more ornate Seljuk and Ottoman tradition.

A 250 room luxury hotel, a marina with its own 100 room boutique hotel, entertainment areas, spa, sports, and a mix of apartments and villas sit sympathetically in their surroundings, all connected by a village hub that creates destinations within the destination.

My role was to develop the concept within the scope identified with the client during initial meetings on site. The results were used to sell the opportunity on to a Romanian development group.
