Ibex Surveyor is an innovative app that allows surveyors to use a 360° camera. The app allows measurements to be taken off the image, meaning data can still be captured without returning the site. Although the app had been released, it was proving difficult to use and engage with.

I audited the app and created new user journeys with Adobe DX. This allowed Ibex to review the usability, without being distracted by the design. These clickable wireframe walkthroughs are not only an essential part of understanding how a user will use the app, they act as the spec for the design and build.

Once the wireframes were approved, I started to design the app. As no brand guidelines existed, I created a colour palette and style that would be easy to read for surveyors out in the field. A lot of the actions can be done with one thumb, using simple, readable icons and typography to guide the user through the steps needed to capture an image.

Finally, I created a one page style guide for the app developer to follow.
