Whilst on location in India for a commercial client, I chanced upon a Kushti wrestling academy in the slums of Mumbai. It was early on a Sunday morning and I was invited to spend an hour or two with the wrestlers photographing them while they trained.

Traditional Indian wrestling isn't just a sport - it's an ancient subculture where wrestlers live and train together and follow strict rules on everything from what they can eat to what they can do in their spare time. The focus is on living a pure life, building strength and honing their wrestling skills.
