Richard's work

About Richard

Over the last 27 years, I've held creative positions in London agencies, both international and boutique, before being headhunted to work in a number of Northern agencies.

My most recent position was at McCann Erickson Manchester, the largest agency outside London and part of the McCann World Group.
As a Creative Partner, my day to day role involved part running of the creative department, the management of creative teams from initial briefings to approving the creative work before presentation to clients.

My role at McCann also involved being the lead creative on a number of our International accounts and overseeing the creative output within the EMEA regions.
Most recently, this involved working closely with our New York office on the relaunch of Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express. All creative work for EMEA was created by myself and my teams or approved as being on brand for the regions.
During this period, McCann Erickson Manchester was lead DM agency for UPS. I was also involved with Future Brand New York to guarantee that their complete rebranding of UPS was delivered creatively and smoothly throughout EMEA.

I also worked on delivering creative work for both Durex and Scholl that would work effectively across a number of European markets.

Outside of the agency I've been involved in student education. For a number of years I helped organise and run the D&AD Student Workshops. This would involve setting a creative brief, assessing the work and holding weekly workshops for up to 20 students. I was also invited to join Leeds College of Art's Industrial Liaison Forum and their Student Mentoring Scheme.
