ABOUT

SHBT, as it’s also known, is a charity and volunteer organisation that’s dedicated to the care, preservation and sympathetic restoration of the City’s historic built environment.

They had a logotype, based on a Lino-cut of one of the signature cementation furnaces that used to pepper the industrial heart of Sheffield, was the starting point - but with the original artwork lost, we needed a sympathetic redraw.

This also needed to be a mark that could stand up to a multitude of applications - as they have plans to significantly grow the profile and attract interest and membership.

As this will be work to follow, I helped out with a few application examples to show how things could work from a set of super-simple master artwork files.

All the work was undertaken pro-bono and the group picture are some of the lovely team in front of the Spring Hill furnaces project.
