ABOUT

Play A Better Hand is a sales development 'tool' that was designed to try and tackle a sales culture problem head on - by putting the 'cards' in the customers hands, metaphorically and literally.

Many automotive brands have a similar problem, that of trying to balance conflicting demands at a crucial part of the buying experience - the car's handover.

While for the customer it's their special day, for the sales person it can be dangerously routine. Plus, it takes time out of an already pressured day when they can't do any selling. So what happens is the handover becomes either rushed or at worse, avoided. Which is why some dealerships are very happy to drop the car off at your place!

In order to address the behavior, I envisaged that every customer would receive a pack of Handover Cards before taking delivery of the car. While there's a small upcost over doing what's currently done (usually a 'quick start guide' or a more usually nothing), making a physical intervention of this nature and asking creates a useful scenario. One where you play the cards you'd like explained and retain the ones you'd like to revisit.

Not only does it make the handover event more interactive, it also encourages better planning.

Or at least it would, if this project ever sees the light of day.

Play A Better Hand is a concept that is likely to remain just that, so I had best make use of it c/o Creativepool!

But if it does fly eventually, you'll be the first to know...
