ABOUT
Last month (June) the studio I work for launched a re-boot of the identity I designed for them way back in 2011.
The wordmark was the only thing to be retained - everything else, long overdue, was overhauled and given the studio's wide-ranging offer, skillsets and four decades of experience the challenge was how to capture that in a few words, without overwhelming or confusing the audience.
This time around, I decided to turn to words, with an elevator pitch typeset to set the scene.
It became a lock-up with the logotype and leading to a line-end specific to the application - so 'with our compliments', a 'we wanted to say', etc.
And yes, we still love stationery. Because so few seem to use it, it has a cut through. And our colleagues in Architecture and Project Management generate a tonne of correspondence, so it's quiet marketing potential is huge.
The text is set in Pangram's amazing PP Fragment, which is used right across the site and settings.
