ABOUT

Creating an identity for a design and architecture business is always a challenge. For one that offers a mix of design and architecture and has 30-odd years of collective practice means a lot of history to try and encapsulate.
In this instance, the idea was to present a made-up name almost as simply as if it were a noun or a verb. It's cut from a modified grotesque font with the 'e' tipped back ever so slightly, just to make the point.
The bold and simple word mark is designed to work at ever-so-small to huge scales and as a foil to the new strategy for the way the business was organised - 'Shape, Make and Build', for the three core areas of activity. And, again, nice and robust words that travel well - and keep everything jargon-free.
The identity is supported with a determinedly rigorous typographic and icon grid and set of gentle pastel backgrounds to keep everything calm and unruffled. And a spot of varnish to make things a little more tactile.
