ABOUT

Blackbird & Co. is an identity developed for a startup greeting's card business, based on the founders' favourite garden birds. The project's been on hold since inception and now is dormant, but I liked the way it turned out so, with permission, decided to share it here.
I drew the Blackbirds from observation, scanned the sketches and created the variations in Illustrator. In addition, I used a series of other ink drawings to design a short series of greetings card ideas.
The wordmark's set in Linowrite (designed by LennardGlitter - anyone know who this is, can't find out much more about the designer?), a variation on typewriter.
The marble papers weren't really part of the ident originally, but this CC image seemed to set off the simplicity of the logotypes - plus it's such a nice material that's fallen out of fashion somewhat.
