And on that note…

Well, I guess most will in agencyLand will be like ‘Mmm, Friday, will be the seasonal festival thing next Wednesday…’ thinking as I type this.

With a cursor hovering over the Shut Down menuItem, one eye on the coat-rack, the other on the traffic reports, mind on not minding project stuff for a week or so…

…well, apart from the freelancers.
Permalancers.
The ones everyone else in the studio knows can be left to crack on while they log-off.
Those on holiday cover.
Them with clients that are demanding someone is looking after their socials while the rest of that team kick back.
Business-owners for whom the office isn’t ever shut.
Teams with pitches that have been called for the FWB (First Week Back. Made that acronym up. Hurt’s, doesn’t it?)
Recent graduates looking to take the time to bolster their creds with some self-initiated projects or get that extra software learnt; them and every other designer of however much experience, frankly, also.
Everyone looking for a job right now, combing the recruitment agency sites and firing off CV’s, oh, and polishing CV’s while we’re at it - and the portfolio site, not forgetting the Behance, Squarespace, CreativePool, YunoJuno, LogoPond (remember that?) and the dozen other places needing maintained in case it needs calling on. Or that you forgot you dropped a prospect a note with a link to it this time last year and just realised with a start you had.
Those whose season celebrations happen not to align to or coincide with the December 25th madness.
Those who’d actually rather keep working through, thanks all the same (because reasons.)
Those who desperately need the time to think up excellent posts to smash it over the holidays.
And Partridges.
Pear trees.

Take it easy if you can, yeah?

And if you can’t, thinking of you :)
