Richard is the Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer of Saatchi & Saatchi in the UK.
A planner by trade and training he oversees the strategic output of the agency with a direct involvement in clients like BT, EE, Direct Line, Kerry Foods, Marie Curie, Operation Black Vote and HSBC. He is the architect of the multi-award winning strategy for Direct Line that has seen it become synonymous with fixing problems and credited with the reversal of the brand's performance over the last 6 years. As well as the strategic thinking that has helped EE to market dominance in the UK, winning the race to both 4G and now 5G. And the strategy behind HSBC's 'Together we Thrive' global brand platform and BT's 'Beyond Limits' brand relaunch in 2019.
Richard writes one of the ad industry's most influential and enduring blogs at adliterate as well as being a regular columnist for Campaign in which he rails against the tired orthodoxies of the business while celebrating what makes it magical.
Richard is also a trustee of LIFT (the London International Festival of Theatre), the Capital's most creatively adventurous festival of performance.
