Richard Harrison 3D Artist

ABOUT

I was tasked within this 2 year stop motion production to create, in 3D, all of the character's fenetic mouth shaps. This varied from 20-30 individual shapes for the secondary characters, to over 50 for the main cast. These shapes were 3D printed and attached to the puppets by the animators while shooting and so needed to be accurate down to a fraction of a milimetre. My second main task was the modelling, texturing and rigging of various CG characters which were included in multiple episodes along side the live action/stop motion characters.

As well as this incredible task, my time working on Norm involved various uses of my 3D skillset. This included ambitious 3D set extension creation and tracking. I also worked closely with Art Director Barbara Biddulph and CG head Pauline Edwards to pre visualise the main set of 'Acorn Towers' which was 3D printed to scale for the set builders to work from. I also worked with the 3D printing department to create the main character's car which features in every episode of it's 54 episode run.
