Whale sharks are extremely rare in Palau. In 13 years of diving here, I'd only ever seen one briefly . 2019 however was an exception with at least 3 seen in different places. One day we pulled up at the Blue Corner site and relaxed during our surface interval. Shouts and screams started to come from people snorkelling and whilst this is quite common today was different and when someone finally lifted up their head, took out their snorkel and shouted "Whale Shark!" I knew that this was going to be an opportunity not to be missed....
