About me

With almost 2 years digital agency experience across 2 companies, a 2:1 Honors degree in Computer Information Systems and 1 year International Experience for a global consultancy company, I believe that my wide range of experience will not only suit this particular role, but allow me to integrate quickly into a new working environment.

The past 15 months have seen me working for a leading digital agency based in Bristol. My work here has provided me with development responsibility for PHP legacy sites and new builds, as-well as all in- house front end and client side development (XHTML, CSS 2/3, Javascript/JQuery). Additionally, I work as part of a 3 man team to develop all new client websites (including deployment) in Django. Clients include Faber and Faber, BNP Paribas and the Royal Photographic Society.

Previous to this, my time spent working at the digital agency Thought Den, gave me fantastic initial experience of the industry and amplified my ambition to further develop my career in the field. The main project that I worked on, Parashoot, introduced me to the Zend Framework and allowed me to develop modules that utilized AJAX, Google Maps API, JQuery, XML based templates and extensive SQL queries. Our relatively small team would be accustomed to putting in extra hours in order to meet our project milestones and deliver to various clients simultaneously.

During my university course I spent 1 year working for the global travel consultancy company,Amadeus, based in the south of France. This position helped to greatly improve my team-working skills, by working with virtual global teams; my leadership, by training several people on internal development; and my ability to adapt quickly and successfully to a variety of cultures, by interacting with many different nationalities, whilst being based in a foreign country.

My experiences' have led to a number of challenging situations and unprecedented issues that I have had to tackle and resolve by creating effective solutions. I enjoy being challenged with the problems that can arise when working on projects and day-to-day tasks, and I can use my experience taken from various fields, as well as my initiative to resolve matters efficiently. Furthermore due to the nature of my degree where we focused on learning the general principles and structural concepts of programming languages I am able to adapt to new languages in a short space of time.

Private work for clients has included website design and development for charities and local businesses. One example being an ecommerce site I built, that sells aviation prints and artwork with all proceeds raised going towards the Douglas Bader Disabled Children Flying Days.
