ABOUT

To train us for the art of animation, we were given the task of taking at least 30 seconds of a song, and then animating something to it in time. I decided to challenge myself by choosing a track that had no lyrical content and relied entirely on instrumentals, so I used my favourite piece of classical music, 'Rhapsody in Blue' by George Gershwin.

I based the animation style largely on the abstract paintings by Wallisy Kandinsky, as well as sluidity of the illustrations by the American catroonist Al Hirschfield.
