ABOUT
This is an educational game you play by gesturing in sign language (through a Kinect device). Currently it supports Makaton and Signalong.
A breakthrough communication game for young people who use signing to support their communication.
Students love the Boris games as it helps them focus on improving their signing vocabulary and the clarity of their signing, in a supportive and motivating way that also takes into account any limitations they may have due to their associated motor or learning difficulties.
Learning Objectives: Improvement of quality of signing • Extension of vocabulary of key signs for different personal and work-based contexts • Development of more understanding of cause-effect sequences and processes from independent living to work-based environments.
Help for independent Living and vocational contexts: In addition to helping users become more confident in their signing, the Boris games are designed to improve users’ understanding of common lifestyle and work processes and the language associated with them including: Personal Needs, Health and Safety, General Workplace, Cleaning. We expect these work contexts will be expanded to include: Hospitality and Catering, Horticulture, Office and Warehousing.
