ABOUT
The stereotype of a rapist as a stranger who preys on random victims in public places is at odds with the real about offenders. This series of four illustrations was for an article by Gina Rushton debunking that stereotype by telling people's stories about their experiences of being sexually assaulted by their partners - an all too common mode of abuse.
I wanted to give a feeling of the raw, emotional horror and pain on display within the stories in the article, so I chose a stark, colour-restricted inky style for the series.
