This illustration is for a BuzzFeed essay by writer Anna McKerrow about witchcraft and female friendship, in which she discusses how practicing witchcraft brought her and a friend close.

I didn't know anything about Tarot or witchcraft before starting, so I did a lot of research into Tarot card design to create this. I spoke to the essay's author about which Tarot card characters would best represent her and her friend in their embedded symbolism, settling on these two queens. The queens reach out of their cards to touch each other, representing their connection.
