About me

I am a social sciences graduate and have also studied English Literature at university level. I have recently completed a course of study in proofreading and copy-editing with Chapterhouse. I have worked as a web writer on a voluntary basis and also have some newspaper and magazine work experience. I have strong writing skills and an excellent grasp of English grammar and punctuation. I am looking to make a career change and become a proofreader, copy-editor or writer on a contract or freelance basis, either based in an office in the South Yorkshire area or at home. I am especially interested in working in the charitable/voluntary sector and have over 12 years' experience in this field.

Skills

Fully qualified in proofreading and copy-editing. Also highly experienced in office administration. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Access and Excel. Knowledge of social media: Twitter and Facebook.

Sector Experience

Current voluntary work at Elmet Archaeology Services Ltd involves retyping text, correcting any errors in sense, spelling and punctuation.
