This is an Akai MPC 2000XL from the year 2000. A machine that "inherits many of the major features of the original MPC such as the legendary 'feel' and 'groove' so that you can be sure that your beats and sequences just swing" (Akai themselves, online). Bakai, a muso from Cape Town, uses one on stage with an array of other 90s machines that just seem to have that back-in-time groove that modern-day technology only attempts to recreate. I created an illustrated gif of the legendary machine for Bakai and this was the outcome...
