This project was originally made for a series of lectures to be given by Otsuka Eiji on Otaku Culture in Mexico City in 2015. The picture links together the following things: the atom bomb, the cartoon "fight cloud", the Japanese flag/sun, the idea of the Japanese gaze (linked to Japanese technology and products), the Japanese icon for "spiral shit" (inverted), many different Japanese cartoon characters, including Haruhi Suzumiya staring at the viewer (printed in negative on a t-shirt) and the amputated hand of Luke Skywalker, that serves as a reference to both castration and the defining influence of the USA in the archipielago.
It was requested this picture to feature the book cover for "Sekai Manga Jyuku" (Otsuka, 2017), edited by Kadokawa.
