About me
Final year psychology and business student at the University of Edinburgh. Currently looking for a full time position within the area of marketing or branding.
I enjoy the challenge of constructing a marketing strategy that conveys the direction and values of the business, whilst simultaneously considering what the consumers are looking for. M y most recent university assignment involved analysing Tata Motors prospect of entering the Japanese automotive market. The data suggested that Tata Motor's international marketing strategy was not compatible with the Japanese culture. A critical factor in Japanese decision-making is the reliance on word-of-mouth referrals. Tata Motor's current international brand awareness is next to non-existent. Therefore, the lack of brand recognition would significantly reduce the likelihood of any consumer-to-consumer advertising, which is salient to compete in such a saturated market. To address this adversity, I suggested the development of their international marketing strategy; by expanding into less competitive markets first to establish a cross border brand.
As briefly stated in my CV, swimming has been a significant factor in my life and is one that makes me unique from other candidates. I competed in elite level swimming for 12 years. While this may not be recognised as standard job: 24+ hours of exercise per week, 48 weeks of the year, tailoring my diet accordingly and ensuring I maintain my grades in high school and university shows commitment and determination. From swimming, I have learned many transferable skills. It has taught me to take ownership of the tasks I am presented with, the importance of creating both short and long term goals to aid self-motivation and the benefits of feedback. I was also fortunate enough to work with a team of experts from a multiple of fields including psychologists, physiologists, nutritionists, etc., so I am experienced in dynamics of teamwork and the importance of communication.
