RE: Graphic Designer - STE/EN77020/JN

I am responding to your advertisment for the Graphic Designer post. I currently work as a full time Graphics Designer for a web based comfort/fashion footwear retailer in York. I am solely responsible for the concept, updating and design of our seasonal catalogues and trims, of which we print approximately 3 million annually. For fast turnaround I work closely with the buying/photography departments and liaise with printers. My responsibilities include contibuting to newsletter design, image manipulation, rebranding, photography, film and edit. In all my roles I am required to manage own time and I am experienced in working under tight deadlines.

I also work as a freelance Multimedia Designer. My clients are entirely gained through recommendation and so maintaining my creative integrity and excellent reputation are vital. My portfolio of work shows my flexibility as a designer and includes video promos for corporate industry, animation, branding and key poster art for British films.

I am competent in basic html, CSS website design and software packages such as Dreamweaver and Fireworks. I am also an experienced user of InDesign, Quark, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I can work to TV-standard with motion graphics using Aftereffects and can edit with Adobe Premier/Final Cut Pro. I am skilled in using Adobe CS4 and some CS5 applications. I am an experienced user of both Mac and PC.

While I have enjoyed and greatly appreciated my current employer, my partner has found employment in Hampshire and we are relocating. As a result I am currently looking for employment in the region and feel my skills and experience ideally suit this post.
