ABOUT

Salts Mill.

Set in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Saltaire, Salts Mill is a vast Victorian Grade II listed former textile factory.

It’s now home to amazing art, beautiful books, homewares and dining. The 1853 Gallery at the Mill is home to a large permanent collection of works by David Hockney.

Working with Salts Mill since 2019, I’ve had the pleasure to design the identity and print for a range of exhibitions including People and Process: The Story of a Mill, Ian Beesley’s Retrospective and their hugely popular David Hockney shows; A Year In Normandie and most recently, 20 Flowers for 2025 and Some Bigger Pictures. I’ve been lucky enough to design a number of exhibition posters and print for Salts Mill, including official Hockney posters which are always an absolute joy to work on.

Having a real love for print and the process, I’ve also developed and produced editions of hand-printed silkscreen posters, inspired by the Mill’s history archive which are available in Salts Mill shop.

“I have been working with Rachael since 2019. Our first encounter was working on Nudrat Afza’s Kehillah exhibition. Rachael impressed me immediately with her straightforward approach lead by design, proportion and common sense. She puts the work in so she gets it right first time. I am pleased to recommend Rachael – indeed I already have, to friends and colleagues, and they have also developed happy working relationships with this extremely creative, thoughtful, sensitive and organised designer.“ — Salts Mill
