ABOUT
Quinine has created a store for (global media and technology giant) Comcast’s consumer brand Xfinity. With the launch of Xfinity mobile, the concept brings together all of the brand’s products and services together under one roof for the first time.
THE BRIEF
To create an exciting and innovative new ‘premier’ store format to showcase the power of Xfinity’s connected world of pure ‘quad-play’ (combining broadband, digital TV, home and mobile phone) and additionally, design a range of fixtures for their new mobile category to be implemented across their existing 220-store retail estate.
THE APPROACH
Quinine designed an experiential store format that encourages interaction and creates a relaxed ambiance for customers and staff. Central to our concept is our understanding of how spaces affect human perception and behaviour; using the cathedral effect, we featured a high open-ceilinged space to create a ‘wow’ effect around the latest products and services, with large screens designed to draw people in, and plenty of comfortable seating areas where customers are encouraged to try out connected home devices and sample entertainment. Lower ceiling areas were introduced, to create inviting spaces, for more intimate interactions and consultations between staff and customers.
RESULTS
80+ stores have opened with this concept and specially-designed fixtures have been implemented across the existing estate. Quinine’s human-centred approach is inspiring customers to explore Xfinity’s offer and their design facilitates a relaxed, consultative experience for customers and staff. Xfinity reports that store-sales are growing every month and exceeding expectations.
