Shooting boards are meant for the director. These drawings set the tempo for the flow and rythm of the film. The shooting board also clarifies the angles and the composition for the shots. So that the time and planning work on the shoot is minimized, leaving more room for improvisation by the director as he feels fit.
Shooting boards are usually Black and white. Unless the director need to highlight a particular color for a specific purpose.
