ABOUT
The Who: For anyone new to The Ring, founded in 1922, The Ring Magazine is “The Bible of Boxing.” For over a century, it has chronicled the sport, crowned champions, and shaped how fans understand and experience boxing. This relaunch marks an important new chapter in that legacy.
Concept: Modernize "The Bible of Boxing" by replacing its legacy digital presence with a premium, high-performance web and mobile application ecosystem designed to engage modern sports fans.
The How: As Technical Director, I orchestrated the end-to-end technical delivery and architecture, leading dedicated web, native mobile, and backend engineering teams. My role centered on navigating the complex system orchestration required to unite these workstreams, building a highly stable, scalable infrastructure that seamlessly synced real-time data, e-commerce, and live-streaming capabilities. We ensured the platform could effortlessly handle massive, sudden traffic spikes during global fight nights.
Result: On the 7th of February, Saturday night, big-time boxing returned to Madison Square Garden, with America’s two best current fighters facing off in front of a record attendance for a boxing event at the present-day Garden, and throughout the bout, a teaser for the new Ring experience played on the giant jumbotron above the ring, showcasing our work to a global TV audience.
Awards: The Website and Mobile App were nominated for the category "Magazine or Publication Websites and Mobile Sites 2026" and won Honoree Websites & Mobile Sites Sports 2026 in the same category.
